Refit well underway

It has been ages since I have put anything down in regard to working on JUNO. I am now a member of Skegness Yacht club, having decided that is where I want to sail from ( being very cheep and friendly helps) the race is now on to make JUNO ready.  The first thing  was to sort out getting her lifted out of the water and plan the work required. Unlike when I owned HOLLY  most of the work I will be doing  although some of the work will be done by Nev ( good mates always help).
Work so far has been to remove the Sea Toilet , with the help of the Aretia blog site ( thanks Chris), clean off all the remaining growth and barncles and start the general clean plus sanding ready for painting ( I have decided to paint the hull blue ) and looking at the dreaded drop keel.  When JUNO was lifted up so we could drop the keel again using the Aretia site but looking under the boat that is when the difference showed up. It looks like this has already been done before and by the state of the bolts holding the keel hangers on not that long ago either. Nev and myself decided that the best action is to put longer bolts in, clean up the area fiberglass and then paint with antifoul.  I have been busy putting the new electronic equipment on to the boat plus a new electronic pannel.
During the easter holls I have got to paint the hull and deck so it is starting to look better already
